Dining in the evenings is similar to having a dinner party with friends, but no-one has to cook! The chalet hosts will do all the hard work for you, and ensure that you are well fed on 6 evenings during your 7-night stay, in a relaxed and unfussy atmosphere.
What to expect
Cooked breakfast – The smell of coffee in the morning will lure you to the breakfast table where you’ll find fresh baguettes, jam and butter alongside yoghurts and fruit juice. A bowl of creamy porridge will set you up for the day, or you could opt for your host’s daily cooked option which could be bacon and scrambled egg, or fried egg and tomato – sure to keep you going until lunchtime. There’s a fruit bowl available – help yourself!
Afternoon tea – After whizzing around the mountain all day, you’ll probably be famished and you’ll certainly deserve a treat!
When you get back from the slopes you’ll find fresh baguettes, butter and jams as well as homemade biscuits or cake accompanied by a proper cup of English tea or coffee. Everything will be laid out on the table ready and waiting for you to get stuck in (just make sure you leave enough for your chalet mates!)
Evening meal – Enjoy a pre-dinner glass of prosecco with canapés and take in the magnificent views from the living room. Once seated at the dining table you’ll be served a delicious four-course meal including a selection of local cheeses. Choose from one of our unlimited superior wines to drink with your meal, and you’ll round off the meal with coffees and teas by the fireside.
For the children
For our youngest guests, a hearty and healthy meal between 5.30-6.00pm is provided so that the grown-ups can relax during their meal later in the evening. A menu that includes family favourites has been put together with the aim of providing a few of those all-important five-a-day as well as some treats for dessert!
If your child has any dietary requirements or intolerances then do please get in touch before you arrive so that we can adapt the menu accordingly. Children’s tea is served with a glass of milk, fruit juice or our lovely mountain water.
When we have younger babies staying with us, our hosts can whizz up some cooked fruit or vegetables. Please advise when booking so they can make sure your little ones are catered for. Formula milk and jars of baby food are available in our local supermarket.
Vegetarians as well as guests with allergies and intolerances can be catered for at no extra cost. Please do advise with as much information as possible prior to your arrival so that arrangements can be made with your hosts to adapt their menu accordingly.
Hosts’ Day Off
The chalet hosts have a day off mid-week. On this day you’ll have bread delivered to the chalet and can help yourself to breakfast (your host will show you where to find everything). They’ll also have made an extra cake which they’ll leave out for your afternoon tea. In the evening, most guests visit a local restaurant. In Courchevel Le Praz there is everything from pizzerias to Michelin-star dining and your hosts will be happy to recommend or book your table at the beginning of the week. You could also choose from one of Courchevel’s many other restaurants in another of the villages which are within around 10-15 minutes on the free, regular buses.
