Dahlia

Chalet Dahlia is one of four catered apartments in the Ferme d’Elise building in La Rosiere. Chalet Dahlia takes up the top two floors of the building. The building is in a superb location just 150m from the nearest lift and you can ski back to the chalet under normal snow conditions too.

The chalet is a traditional Savoyarde affair with attractive wood panelling throughout. The living and dining room is open plan and very cosy thanks to the corner sofa, fireplace and TV too. The rooms on the 4th floor with balconies boast some amazing alpine views down the valley. The two suites have limited headspace due to sloping ceilings and exposed beams.

Kids will love the children’s snug on the upper floor which is shared with the other chalets in the building. Perfect for making new friends in and watching their favourite DVD’s. NB – This space is unsupervised.

Please note that Snow Club and Nursery children, with our accompanying staff, will use the dining area and communal wc in this chalet over the lunch period.

Winter 2018/19 Cuisine

Our staff prepare and serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3 course evening meal including wine and coffee, on five days a week, representing great value for money in any ski resort and giving you more precious time as a family. The staff nights off give you a chance to sample some of the delicious local restaurants an ensure that you don’t leave The Alps without your fill of Weiner Schnitzel or Fondue! Our baby listening service ensures that you can enjoy your meal out without worry.

Cuisine

One of the joys of choosing to take a catered chalet or Chalet Hotel ski holiday is that you’re not doing the cooking. Your staff prepare and serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3 or 4 course evening meal including wine and coffee, on six days a week, representing great value for money in any ski resort and giving you more precious time as a family.

High standards are set for cuisine, staff are trained extensively before the season starts, to ensure that guests will enjoy every meal.

Breakfast

In all properties breakfast is served buffet-style with a selection of cold options including a choice of cereals or porridge, cold meats, cheese and preserves, and bread (an croissants in France) fruit juices, tea and coffee and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans.

On the one staff night off per week, a continental style breakfast is laid out for you to help yourselves in all chalets.

Afternoon Tea

Every day, apart from the one staff day off, a home-bake cake and tea and coffee making facilities are laid out for you to help yourself when you return from the slopes.

Chalet Meals – Evening Meals 6 nights a week

5.30pm High Tea

High Tea at 5.30pm is served as a 2 course evening meal for all children under 13 as many parents prefer to enjoy adult-only company over dinner. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 3, whilst 3-12 years old are supervised by the childcare team.

7.30pm Adult Dinner

Adult dinner at 7.30pm comprises 3 courses including an appetiser, main dish and dessert, preceded by a prosecco apéritif, accompanied by a choice of red and white wines, and culminating with tea or coffee.

Family Dining Chalets

If it’s important to you to eat dinner altogether as a family, Family Dining can be offered in any chalet when you book the entire chalet for exclusive use. Dinner is then served from 6:30pm with the menu based on our adult dishes with some flexibility for the children’s preferences. There is a supplement of £39 per child for Family Dining. The Valentine in La Rosiere, is a Family Dining chalet throughout the season, with no additional charge.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider staying with us in a Chalet Hotel where children aged 8 and above have the option of joining their parents at the adult dinner

Staff Day/Night Off

Once a week, you have an opportunity to eat out and enjoy a local Alpine Restaurant on the staff’s day off.

Special Diets

Vegetarian options are available in chalets if you advise in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised at the time of booking in order to be fully prepared.

Our Opinion

A family friendly chalet in the most family friendly of resorts. Ski back to the chalet too!
