FOOD & WINE
Staying in a catered chalet means that you don’t have to lift a finger in the kitchen – enjoy a 4-course dinner party after your day on the slopes, with no washing up! It’s a real treat to have a break from cooking, as well as a really good value way of feeding your family while skiing.
Whether you’re a hot breakfast person or a morning grazer, you’ll find an indulgent selection on the breakfast table in the chalet. Choose from cereals, warming porridge, yoghurts, fresh fruit, freshly baked baguettes and croissants, which are cooked in the chalet. A selection of jams, butter and a selection of teas, fresh coffee and fruit juice are also available.
Cooked breakfasts such as scrambled egg and grilled tomatoes, or bacon and fried egg are served through the week, with a full English once during your stay.
In addition to the above, luxurious options such as eggs benedict, smoked salmon with scrambled egg, and your own choice of egg each day, all prepared by your chef are available. Coffee lovers can start the day with a choice of Nespresso coffee.
Nothing says ‘Chalet Holiday’ like a slice of homemade cake and a cup of proper tea after a day on the slopes. It’s a classic feature of a catered chalet and here it’s a tradition that’s fully embraced! Your host will leave tea, coffee, crusty baguettes, butter and jam alongside the tempting treat that they have baked, such as crunchy cookies, squidgy brownies, a luscious lemon drizzle or raspberry cupcakes.
Vin chaud is also available alongside your daily treat
You’ll be welcomed with a Champagne reception and canapés. Help yourself to a beer, wine or glass of bubbly from the complimentary bar which is part of the Premier Plus service, as are daily canapés made by your chef.
Dinner is served at 7.30pm each evening. Take your seat at the table and enjoy delicious 4-course dinner party dining six nights of the week.
As well as internationally-inspired dishes, your hosts also show off our local mountain produce with a Savoyarde evening during the week, which includes Tartiflette and Tarte aux Myrtilles. Yum!
After every meal you will be served a selection of cheeses to include local favourites such as Comte and Tomme de Savoie.
There are three whites and three red wines which are served in our chalets, with rosé also available.
Guests can help themselves to our house wine, beer, sparkling wine and soft drinks throughout their stay. The selection of dinner wines are specially chosen to complement the chef’s menu. Some of the favourites include Sancerre, Saint Emilion, Picpoul de Pinet and Cabardès.
The meal is rounded off with petit fours, filter coffee, tea and a choice of Nespresso coffees.
Early tea is offered for the younger members of the party, which is served at 6pm. Special menus have been created offering tasty, wholesome homemade food, especially after a day of playing in the snow!
The menu has been devised with homemade family favourites such as spaghetti bolognaise and homemade pizza, which hopefully will encourage children to eat plenty during their stay. Meals are served with water, squash or milk.
When booking, please advise if any of the children would like an early tea and indicate any special favourites or dislikes as well as food intolerances/allergies.
EXTRA FOOD & DRINK INFORMATION
At Christmas and New Year, the chalets are decorated and we have a real Christmas tree in every chalet. A traditional Christmas Dinner is prepared with all the trimmings such as crackers, Christmas pudding and even Stilton Cheese. Mince pies, and Christmas cake are also made
New Year is celebrated with a special dinner followed by fireworks in the village. You will also enjoy little treats should you be staying with us on Pancake Day, Valentine’s Day or Easter…
Many guests celebrate special occasions, such as birthdays or anniversaries during their stay. Please advise in advance if there’s anything you’d like to celebrate! Cakes can be decorated and bubbly can be served. Likewise flowers or chocolates can be organised to be delivered if required.
All kinds of diets can be catered for to include vegetarian, vegan and gluten free and the hosts are flexible and trained to adapt to your needs.
If you book the chalet on a sole occupancy basis, and you would like a few changes to the menu, this can be discussed with the party leader.
CHALET HOSTS DAY OFF
The hosts have a much-deserved day off in the middle of the week. On this day, breakfast is continental, with the option to boil your own egg in our clever egg machine! For afternoon tea, a cake or biscuits will be left out for you to enjoy.
In the evening you will be able to sample one of the local restaurants, which your hosts will be happy to recommend and book for you.
