It’s far enough from the centre to be peaceful in the evenings, but close enough to stroll to the bars if you fancy a night out. And most importantly, it’s just a 7 minutes’ walk to the main gondola.

Inside, the hotel puts a modern twist on the classic Austrian look, with carved wooden furniture and bright, patterned fabrics that bring pops of colour to the rooms. It’s not too big either, so you’ll probably be on first-name terms with all the staff after a couple of days.

It’s the little touches that really make this place feel like home, like the tasty snacks served up each afternoon in the lounge. Slip off your ski boots and sit down for a well-earned slice of strudel, before heading to the spa for a session in the sauna. Mealtimes are a treat as well, with a different theme each day, from Tyrolean specialities to gooey fondues
