Solden
Solden is one of the liveliest ski resorts in Europe, the apres-ski and nightlife is a lot of fun! The skiing is great for all abilities and glacial too, offering skiers and snowboarders a snow-sure, beginner friendly ski area. We have one chalet hotel here that is well located for ski access and offers excellent value for money.
Overview
Solden is located in the Austrian Tirol in the Otz valley, an hour and a half ‘s drive from Innsbruck airport. The resort is one of the most lively in the Alps with a raucous après-ski scene that carries on into the evening and wee hours of the morning. The skiing is superb and offers high altitude skiing, the majority of it over 2000m making Solden a great choice for an early or late season ski trip.
The town itself is a sprawling affair, spread out in a linear fashion along the main road. There is a good feeling of space in the resort but it won’t win any beauty contests.
Solden is a first class ski resort with great skiing and even better nightlfe. We love Solden because you still feel like a tourist here. Do not assume English will be spoken in the bars here so brush up on a spot of lingo before travelling. This is not to everyone’s tastes but if you are looking to find something different to St. Anton, make this your next trip.
